چکیده

Open-access data associated with research efforts depend upon managing, packaging, and preserving for sharing collaborators the public. The U.S. Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) Network, established in 1980, provides an early example of embedded management supporting long-term, place-based contributes to our understanding enactment open access within scientific arenas. Here, we examine collective activities enabled by embedding Shortgrass Steppe (SGS) site. Study SGS LTER, a member LTER Network more than three decades, provided unique opportunity investigate practices challenges during life cycle long-term project. It illustrates how continuous, uninterrupted focus on positioned dynamic interaction researchers at site as well active network-wide committee can stimulate growth both expertise infrastructure. We report ethnographic study collaborative team researchers, all having been involved network well-positioned investigating faced periods activation, maturation, decommissioning project Termination site's membership prompted rethinking about management. During phase, document views temporality strategies shift from planning longitudinal, ongoing wrapping up Striving ensure “long live data” end, novel arrangements, such development digital legacy collection, contribute stewardship. Lastly, this site, offer five recommendations describe pertinent other projects.

UPBox and DataNotes: a collaborative data management environment for the long tail of research data

Current research data management workflows are often an a posteriori process, with research datasets being targeted for preservation actions after the whole research process is completed. This approach works well for research publications but not for research datasets due to their dynamic nature. It is important to gather data production contexts, so the data management process should be presen...

Introducing Research Data Management as a Service Suite at RWTHAachen

Research Data Management (RDM) receives more and more attention as a core component of scientific work. This importance equally stems from the scientific work with everincreasing amounts of data, the value of this data for subsequent use, and the formal requirements of funding agencies. While these requirements are widely accepted among the researchers, the individual acceptance depends on many...
